Stash yarn...from....Milan? Genoa? (definitely Italy, 2005)

yarn: filpucci cotone batik
amount: approx 150 yards, *trippled stranded*
lot: 1026
color: 3
needle size: 11 (24 inch)
gauge: 3 sts/inch in garter stitch
project: neck warmer
plan: going to make a big tube with circumference of 58 inches (so I can wrap it around my neck twice)
width of tube will be 8 inches
calculations: cast on 3 x 58 = 174; but only 113 fit comfortably on needle, so that's what I'm going with
cast-on method: cable cast-on (by Jackie Fee)
...and knit around til tube is 8 inches wide
cast-off method: probably I-cord cast-off
first mistake: I started knitting every stitch, forgetting that when you're knitting in the round, garter stitch requires purling every stitch.
gauge for st st: 2.5 sts/inch
adjustments: stick with st st....make a little longer and stretchier by adding 2x2 rib on each end - specifically:
co 120
k 1st st
p next 2 sts
k 54, place marker
p 2
k 1, place marker
k 1
p 2
k 54, place marker
p 2
k 1 (st before marker that joins round)
repeat
