Alice's hat

Alice:

Head circumference: 21.5 inches
(should have measured from ear to the top of the head, because the hat turned out too "deep")

Yarn:
Rowan super bulky stuff, 2 skeins
Needles - US 15
Gauge: 2 sts per inch (st st)

Pattern:
1. CO for bottom edge of hat: 40 sts
2. Brim: knit in 2x2 rib for 3.5 inches
3. Above the brim: increase four sts evenly around one row; then knit in st st, for about 4.5 inches
4. Shape top:
-k2tog every stitch around one row (22 sts)
-knit 2 rows
-k2tog every stitch (11 sts)

And then I meant to decrease 2tog for one more round but for some reason I stopped when I had decreased to 8 sts.

I like it!
